Sally Torpey
Sally Torpey is a Ghanaian International fashion designer, and CEO of the Sallet Fashion House. The Sally Torpey, Oheemaa, and the JAK-Gentle Giant collection, which is in honor of former President of the republic of Ghana, John A Kuffor, are some of her flagship brands. Sally has been featured on major business platforms as well as runways, in Ghana, Africa and around the world, such as the Miami Fashion week as well as independent shows during the New York Fashion week.
Sally is the African Ambassador for the Global Fashion Business Alliance. She is also a young female entrepreneur case study for Growth Cap UK and others. She is passionate about women and girls’ empowerment, frequently speaking on International platforms across Africa and the US, on fashion business, women empowerment and personal development.
In 2003, Sally founded Sympathy International to educate teens especially, young women on the importance of female reproductive health and hygiene. She was the first teenager to receive the GAFUND and MSHAP from the Ghana Aids Commission for advocacy , Behavioral Change Communication and support for PLWHIV.Leading her team she researched into topical issues like teenage pregnancy and high female school dropout in Central Region.
